Polished Glass Gems
Many of the projects that you can make at the Fusing Shop are made from start to finish completely by you. Our polished gems are no exception. The process for making these cool gems looks like this:
Choose the type of glass that you want to use.
Decide what size gem you want to make.
Cut the glass to the dimensions that you need.
Design your piece by layering the glass.
Grind and polish to make a one of a kind gem.
Making one gem takes about an hour of time. More time may be needed depending on how much you want to perfect the facets. This is the only artwork that you can work on and take home with you when you leave.
